Machine Repair Mechanic

Location: Lexington Park, MD

Pay: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour

Chesapeake Automotive Equipment is seeking a skilled technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of shop equipment used in automotive and heavy-duty service environments. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving mechanical issues, and working directly with customers in the field.

We supply and service a wide range of equipment including vehicle lifts, air systems, and specialty repair tools for commercial clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and service automotive shop equipment at customer locations
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and complete necessary repairs
• Evaluate job sites to determine equipment needs and service requirements
• Complete service calls independently while maintaining strong communication with clients
• Document work completed, parts used, and recommended follow-up services
• Follow safety standards and company procedures at all times
• Maintain tools, inventory, and service vehicle readiness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with automotive shop equipment such as lifts and compressors
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Background in automotive or industrial environments preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workload
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Professional communication and customer interaction skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay from $25.00 to $35.00 depending on experience
